What is ‘slow beauty’?

You’ve heard of slow fashion and slow food, but what about ‘slow beauty’?

According to Wendy Rowe, international makeup artist, beauty expert and wellbeing author, ‘slow beauty’ is about “sticking with things for long enough that you start to see a positive change in the way you look and feel.”

It’s a gradual approach to beauty that doesn’t rely on quick fixes and cover-ups, but rather focuses on long-term solutions for healthier skin. And it’s a sentiment we can really get behind!

Our skin renews itself every 28 days, so changes can take time to see or feel. So patience really is a virtue when it comes to skincare, especially when you’re dealing with difficult skin.

So how slow is slow?

How quickly a product ‘works’ depends largely on our individual skin type and challenges, but most of us can expect immediate benefits, followed by more noticeable and lasting changes.

You should be able to tell if a product is going to work for you within four weeks – which is why we offer 90-day returns!

CAMELLIA & ROSE GENTLE HYDRATING CLEANSER

Quick

If you’re switching from a Cleanser containing alcohol or detergents, you can wave goodbye to that tight, squeaky post-cleanse feeling. Our creamy Cleanser leaves skin feeling comfortable, calm and supple.

Slow

Longer-term, it restores and protects the skin’s natural oil and pH balance – helping to stave off troublesome dryness, breakouts and flare-ups.

DAY CREAMS

Quick

Beyond that instant ‘ahh’ feeling we get from patting moisturiser into dry or aggravated skin, Day Creams help to guard against moisture loss and potential irritants we come into contact with throughout the day.

Slow

Over time, using the right moisturiser can help to keep your skin on an even keel, as proper hydration can minimise flare-ups and balance areas of shininess.

ROSEHIP BIOREGENERATE OIL

Quick

The Telegraph Magazine call our supercharged Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil an “overnight miracle worker”.

A vibrant orange hue, it adds an instant glow to even the most lacklustre, tired (or hungover!) complexions. It’s also fantastic at instantly comforting skin that’s feeling dry or irritable.

Slow

The real rewards come when you’ve been using this magical Oil for a few weeks.

In an independent consumer trial, our Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil helped to tackle all kinds of skin woes from dullness and blemishes to pigmentation and fine lines.

It may seem like a slow process, but good things come to those who wait!
