Walnut revealed as antioxidant heavyweight

I often blog about the importance of anti-oxidants for the skin and general health, so was really interested to read this week that walnuts have been named an excellent source of the protective goodies.

According to Joe Vincen, Chemistry Professor at the University of Scrante, Pensylvania, walnuts contain twice as many antioxidants as other commonly eaten nuts.

The humble walnut’s antioxidants are also reported to be 15 times more potent than those found in other antioxidant sources like Vitamin E.

Antioxidants protect the body from free radicals, the damaging entities responsible for the onset of cancer, heart disease and some neurological diseases to name but a few.

They have a similar effect when applied topically, where they protect the skin from free radicals in UVA sunlight and pollutants in the atmosphere.

Rosehip is also an excellent natural source of antioxidants – yet another reason to invest in our new Rosehip BioRegenerate 😉

So make sure you grab a Waldorf salad or granola bar this weekend, and feel that walnutty goodness sweep through you!
