Last night, I headed off to the 11th First Women Awards created with Real Business and the CBI.
I was up for the First Woman in Manufacturing award, alongside some seriously tough competition with seventy women shortlisted across fourteen categories, including the amazing Julie Deane OBE, founder and CEO of Cambridge Satchel Company.
So, I was totally thrilled and overwhelmed when I won the award!
For me, this is a particularly special award because there are so few accolades celebrating female entrepreneurs in manufacturing.
I believe that manufacturing is actually one of the most creative things you can do – to physically create something from nothing.
But it comes with its challenges – production can be difficult, especially as you have to scale up, it requires a real commitment to the cause.
For us here at Pai, it’s a labour of love and to have that recognised is incredible!
