Here at Pai HQ we like to think we have organic skincare down to a tee, but organic make-up – we’re not so clued up on.
Keen to expand our beauty horizons, we sent our PR & Marketing Assistant Flo to our favourite boutique Content for a natural make-up lesson with make-up artist Lou Dartford.
Here’s her run down of what happened:
“Although I do already use a fair few natural products, I’m pretty low maintenance (read: useless) when it comes to makeup.
Lou picked up on this immediately, and rather than pushing me to have a bright eye and bold lip, she gently persuaded me to step slightly outside my makeup comfort zone.
She spent a while discussing my skin and the type of finish and look I generally like to go for before getting started.
She created a brilliant and very natural look on me using a huge range of products available on Content.
Some of my favourites, which I’m heading back to purchase soon, included a dewy, light liquid foundation from Vapour Beauty, some brilliant multiple sticks from W3LL People, a gorgeous lipstick from Ilia and little pots of coconut and jojoba oil magic from RMS.
It was great to be walked through the process, and I picked up some invaluable pro tips and tricks (for example, did you know that mascara is usually at its ‘best’ a month or two after opening? No, me neither!)
If you want to make the switch to cleaner cosmetics, are stuck in a makeup rut or just fancy a makeover, I’d definitely recommend popping in.
The world of natural make-up’s improved so much, and as Lou says – that doesn’t mean throwing everything you currently use away, but replacing your as they run out with a purer alternative that works just as well if not better!”
There’s no better time to make the switch to natural than Organic September. One to one make up lessons at Content are available every Saturday, and can be booked here.
