Fair Pay, Fair Play

Sarah Brown is the founder of Pai Skincare. Entrepreneur, mum and sensitive-skinned soul.

I was delighted to hear the news today that Lush is planning to pay all of its employees the real Living Wage of £8.45 per hour.

Pai, as a London-based employer, this month celebrates our first anniversary of being a certified London Living Wage business.

This means everyone employed by us is paid a minimum of £9.75 per hour – including our cleaners, building contractors and even students joining us on internships or for work experience.

This is £2.55 more per hour than the National Minimum Wage.

I’m really proud that every Pai product is conceived, created, manufactured, picked, packed, sold and marketed by staff who are paid fairly.

We believe it makes for happier, healthier and more loyal team members and is simply the right thing to do.

Lush, I applaud you…a monumental step forward for your 3,500+ staff. Let’s hope it sets a precedent for more British employers to join the fair pay fair play revolution!
