Pai hit barrecore!

BarreCore was the exercise trend of last year, and judging by the wave of classes cropping up across London – it looks like it’s here to stay.

If you haven’t heard of it before, barrecore is a revolutionary workout that combines traditional ballet barre exercises with other dance techniques.

Using your own body weight as resistance, the high energy, low impact classes deliver fantastic results quickly, and are ideal for toning rather than bulking up the body.

Its success here in the UK is all down to one woman – Niki Rein, founder of Barre Core and protégée of Tracy Anderson (the fitness guru responsible for Gwyneth Paltrow’s honed figure).

Along with the likes of Vogue and Grazia I’m a huge fan of Niki – and lucky for us she’s a huge fan of Pai too!

You can now pick up Pai Skincare products from the Barre Core studio on Kings Rd in Chelsea – I’d recommend the Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator for a quick cleanse and refresh after a hard session

If you’re wondering what all the fuss is about, here’s what Nicola and Flo from our Marketing & PR team thought of their first class:

Flo

“My dance (and ballet!) skills are pretty poor to non-existent, so I was apprehensive about the dance aspect of the class. Thankfully, it was less dance and more small, but oh-so-powerful movements inspired by ballet.

Amazingly, I wasn’t too achy after the class – instead, I felt energised. I’m really keen to go back and try another one!”

Nicola

“I’ve tried a few Barre classes before, but Niki’s techniques and expertise were on a whole other level!

Barre classes focus on strength and Niki really motivates you to test yourself to your limit without taking things too far.

Unlike Flo I definitely felt it the day after – but in a good way! The backs of my arms and shoulders felt instantly more defined, and my core was definitely tighter.”
