To coincide with Earth Day, one of my favourite blogs, The Beauty Shortlist has been running Green Beauty Week to showcase all things natural and organic.
I had a chat with the editor, Fiona, earlier in the week to share my top five desert island beauty essentials.
If you’re dreaming of a sun drenched beach right now then have a read!
1. Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser
I cannot go to sleep without clean skin – even on a desert island! My super sensitive skin needs something gentle yet effective, and our cult Cleanser is perfect as it removes all traces of dirt without stripping away the skin’s natural oils. The rich Cream would be my little bit of luxury amidst the wilderness!
2. Udo’s Choice Oil
On a blowy beach the skin would take a battering, so conditioning it from the inside out would be even more important! I take a daily Omega supplement as it’s not only anti-inflammatory (and so great for sensitive skin), but feeds skin the essential building blocks it needs to stay healthy and glowing. There are lots of great blends out there – Udo’s Choice is my current favourite.
3. Holistic Silk Eye Mask
I’m the kind of person who needs her 8 hours sleep – anything short of that really shows on my skin and it can often become more sensitive and reactive. With no curtains to pull tight an Eye Mask would be my next best thing for stopping those tropical rays disturb my slumber. Holistic Silk’s masks are the best I’ve found for a complete black-out, and the lavender stuffing is a dream for helping you doze off.
4. Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil
This is an absolute bathroom cabinet essential and amazing multi-tasker – everyone needs one! The full range of Omegas 3,6,7&9 keep the skin at its absolute best. Skin tone, clarity, suppleness and radiance – you name it, Rosehip oil improves it. It also accelerates the skin’s natural healing process, so is an incredible treatment for sunburn should you find yourself out of the shade for too long.
5. Bentley Organics Shampoo
All that sand, wind and sea salt would be a nightmare for my sensitive scalp! I’m always on the look out for certified organic shampoos that really work (truly great organic haircare is notoriously hard to find), and Bentley Organics is the best range I’ve tried that delivers lovely clean hair with no nasty or irritating ingredients.
