Happy New Year from Sarah!

Sarah Brown is the founder of Pai Skincare. Entrepreneur, mum and sensitive-skinned soul.

I love the start to a New Year – it holds so much hope and potential.

It is a really reflective time for me, when I think about how I want to live my life better or differently to the year prior.

T.S. Elliot says it best.

For last year’s words belong to last year’s language and next year’s words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning.”

My looking forward isn’t just about setting career or business milestones (though I do do this!) – it is much more about considering my general wellbeing.  In my experience, the latter anyway impacts the former.

I talk a lot about the importance of balance in the skin – getting oil and pH levels in proper balance is the simplest and fastest route to happy and healthy skin.  Increasingly I’m realising this mantra holds some sway in wider life!

In 2019 I have a singular mission to eat better. Running a busy business and having two children under 5 means life is chaotic and continually run at full pelt. That means when I do fall, I fall hard. Colds and bugs can wipe me out for days and I find myself veering from one extreme of self care to another of self-negligence!

So next year is going to be about continuing to muddle through but a bit more in the middle lane. Making sure I eat well at least 50% of the time so I don’t have to feel guilty about the other 50%.

How do I plan to achieve this? I’m going to create a 30/30 recipe book – comprising 30 easy, nutritious family meals that can all be prepared in under 30 minutes. Happy to share as I road test them!

Happy New Year. I hope 2019 brings plenty of fun and fulfilment in equal measure. It’s all about the balance apparently 😉
