Great British Brand: Good Hemp Food

Sarah Brown is the founder of Pai Skincare. Entrepreneur, mum and sensitive-skinned soul.

Last week I discovered another great British brand I wanted to share with you all – Devon based, Good Hemp Food.

As regular readers will know, I am a huge fan of Hemp Seed Oil and believe that it’s the absolute best source of EFA (Essential Fatty Acids). Read more about why here.

Good Hemp Food founders Henry Braham and Glynis Murray grow their own hemp crops on Collabear Farm in North Devon, and supply chefs such as Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall with their nutty tasting, cold-pressed Hemp Seed Oil.

It’s fabulous drizzled into soup, over vegetables, as a salad dressing and for cooking in place of Olive Oil.  Best of all, just one tablespoon (10ml) of Hemp Seed Oil contains 94% of your recommended daily intake of Omega 3.

Like me, celebrity health guru Nish Joshi is a huge fan of Hemp Oil and explains that it’s the GLA (Gamma Linolenic Acid – a fat in the Omega-6 family), which is responsible for vibrant health, glossy hair and radiant skin.

GLA has a multitude of rejuvenating properties including increasing cell resilience and moistening the fatty layer beneath the skin, which helps to:

  • Produce a glowing complexion
  • Prevent collagen loss
  • Soothe dry, scaly skin
  • Combat fine lines
  • Nourish dry or damaged hair
  • Strengthen brittle nails

Joshi recommends using Hemp Seed Oil on a daily basis – and with clients including the permanently glowing Cate Blanchett and radiant Gwyneth Paltrow, I think I’ll be following his advice too!
