Five ways to brighten your skin from the inside and out

While make-up looks come and go, a bright, clear and dewy complexion will never be off-trend.

Here are my top five tips for maintaining a healthy glow all year round:

1. Perfect Polishing

Every 3-4 weeks our skin replaces its tired old cells with bright shiny new ones.

Make sure these are right at the surface by polishing away any leftover dead cells and surface impurities with our new Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator.

The perfectly cylindrical wax beads roll over skin rather than scratching its surface, making it perfect for sensitive types.

2. Eat Bright

Our expert nutritionist from The Health Quarter, Rosie Millen, says:

‘Essential fatty acids (Omegas 3,6&9) are so-called because they form an important part of skin cell walls.

Our bodies do not produce these naturally, so we have to consume them in foods such as oily fish, nuts, seeds and avocado oil.

Having a continuous supply of good fats ensures that skin cells stay supple, plump and glowing.

Collagen is also a key protein for the skin as it improves elasticity and suppleness, resulting in a radiant and youthful complexion.

Zinc is vital for the manufacture of collagen, so top up on foods such as seafood, red meat, wholegrains and mushrooms.’

3. Clear Conditioning

Essential Fatty Acids can also be applied topically to banish dull or damaged skin.

Rosehip BioRegenerate oil contains Omegas 3,6,7&9, instantly conditioning the skin and promoting a clear complexion free from fine lines, dark marks or surface irregularities.

4. Drink away toxins

While drinking water is an obvious choice, Rosie tells us why it’s essential for the brightest skin possible,

‘If we have too much toxic waste in the body it can show on our skin as spots and blemishes.

Keeping skin cells hydrated helps to cleanse these excess toxins from the body, so try and drink at least 2 litres of water a day.’

5. Instant Illumination

To top up the effects of a skin brightening diet and beauty regime, use a bronzer or highlighter along the cheek and brow bones for an instant glow.

Mineral make-up is ideal for sensitive types, as it sits the skin’s surface rather than being absorbed into the pores.
