Difficult skin? How to add to your skin care regime

If you’ve ever experienced difficult skin, it can be a scary to add anything beyond your trusty cleanser or moisturiser to your routine; but it’s these little extras can make all the difference to how your skin looks and feels.

Eye cream

One of the questions we’re asked most is ‘Do I really need to use an Eye Cream?’ The short answer is yes – but it’s all about how you apply it.

As the skin around the eyes is so different to the skin on the rest of your face, you need a slightly different formula to effectively treat and target this area.

Our Echium & Argan Gentle Eye Cream is packed with wonder ingredient, Echium – one of the best sources of Omgea-rich Gamma Linolenic and Stearadonic Acid – something you definitely want in your beauty arsenal!

When it comes to daily application, you need to apply the Cream much lower than you’d expect. Gently pat one pump along the orbital bone (it starts at the top of your cheekbone) using your ring fingers, in an anticlockwise direction.

This is the clever part – as the eye area doesn’t have any sebaceous glands, it ‘draws’ the Cream from lower down, taking in the amount of hydration it needs.

Avoid applying Eye Cream to the fleshy, under eye area – as it can lead to puffy eyes and potentially even milia, particularly if you have oily or combination skin.

Exfoliator

Very gentle, regular exfoliation lifts away these dead cells at the surface, to reveal the healthy skin underneath.

Not only will this lead to brighter skin, but it will also be more comfortable, absorb your products better, and look much smoother under make-up.

Our Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator is perfect for skin that’s usually too sensitive for exfoliation.

The perfectly cylindrical Jojoba Beads at the heart of our innovative Micro-Sphere system gently roll over skin, lifting away dead cells and surface impurities without scratching the healthy skin cells underneath.

High levels of conditioning Omegas 3 & 6, plus Vitamins A & E lock-in moisture, and instantly  hydrate and illuminate your fresh new complexion.

Oil

Choose your facial oil carefully and it can make a huge and very visible difference to your skin.

They key thing about Oils is that the actives are present at a much higher concentration as they’re not diluted, so they have a more tanglible effect on the skin.

A fatty, Omega-rich Oil like our Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil or Echium & Amaranth Age Confidence Oil deeply conditions, nourishes and improves skin tone and elasticity.

The key thing to remember is you cannot receive hydration from an Oil alone – despite what some brands may claim.

Mask

If you think of your daily skincare regime as a good diet, then Masks would be your super smoothies or extra supplements – feeding skin any essential nutrients it may be lacking.

You’ll see the best results by using them in the evening on clean, dry skin 1-2 times a week. Just ten minutes will help give you that de-stressed, at-home facial feel.

Harnessing the regenerative power of Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil, our ultra-hydrating Rosehip Rapid Radiance Mask restores tired, dry and dull skin in under 10 minutes.

Our Copaiba Deep Cleanse AHA Mask is designed to clear more oily or spot-prone skin types, and brighten up skin tone. The rich, cooling clay-based formula draws out impurities without drying or tightening the skin – so you cleverly get that deep-clean feeling without the slightest bit of irritation.
