How Muslin Cloths help improve Eczema

Sarah Brown is the founder of Pai Skincare. Entrepreneur, mum and sensitive-skinned soul.

I had a really interesting conversation with a Pai customer this week which I thought might be worth sharing with anyone suffering from eczema.

While she didn’t really have any eczema patches on the face, she did suffer really badly on the body – a good skin day for her meant very dry, flaky skin that wasn’t cracked or flared.

She’d recently started introducing Pai Muslin Cloths into her body care routine, using them to gently buff her skin in the shower – and now absolutely swore by them after noticing a huge improvement.

The exfoliating action of Muslin Cloths helps to lift away the dead skin cells that can build up on the surface of dry, damaged eczema-prone skin.

By doing this, not only do they smooth the skin’s surface – but they also allow your skincare products to absorb much more easily, as they remove the barrier of dead skin cells that would otherwise get in the way.

For example, we recommend eczema-sufferers apply Comfrey & Calendula Calming Body Cream straight after washing – and this method would make the high concentration of anti-inflammatories all the more effective at soothing and healing the skin.

So, while most sensitive skin types may shudder at the thought of exfoliation, done properly it can work wonders!

Something to try if you’re struggling to get your eczema under control.
