Nutritious Skincare: What to look for in a product

The world of skincare may seem complicated, but it doesn’t need to be.

Rather than worrying about the latest “quick fix” or laboratory-crafted ingredients, it’s much more effective to think of good skin as we think of good health.

To keep our bodies looking and feeling their best, we know we must live a healthy lifestyle – eating a balanced, nutrient-rich diet and keeping active.

As the largest organ, our skin is exactly the same – and needs a “healthy”, nutrient-rich skincare regime to function at its absolute best.

Optimising skin health has endless benefits – from keeping skin calm and clear, to minimising fine lines and wrinkles.

As well as feeding the skin from within, the key ingredients in our products make a huge difference – after all it’s thought we absorb up to 60% of what we put on our skin.

What nutrients to look for in your products

Omegas

Also known as Essential Fatty Acids, Omegas are one of the most transformative skincare ingredients you’ll find. They form the building blocks of healthy skin – and as we don’t produce them naturally in the body it’s essential we get them from our skincare and diet.

Omegas optimise almost all the skin’s functions – improving skin condition, tone, regeneration, and clarity.

We use Omega-rich ingredients in every single one of our Pai products, but you’ll get the most super-charged dose from Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil.

Vitamins

A: Optimises skin cell turnover, replacing dull, dry or dead skin cells with fresh new ones. As well as improving the appearance of skin blemishes or uneven skin tone, this also helps skin stay smooth and supple.

B: Plays a range of roles in optimising skin health – from helping skin retain moisture to brightening the complexion.

C: Accelerates Collagen production. Collagen is the natural protein that keeps skin firm and plump.

D: Replenishes hydration and increases skin elasticity.

E: A powerful antioxidant that helps protect the skin from damaging environmental forces such as sunlight and pollution.

Minerals

Like vitamins, minerals have a wide range of skin benefits – primarily detoxing, regenerating and protecting cells against free radical damage.

Pai’s Rice Plant & Rosemary BioAffinity Tonic is packed full of the rich minerals circulating within the Rice plant, and effectively purifies the skin to increase clarity and ease congestion.

These are just a selection of valuable nutrients – anyone have any others they always keep an eye out for?
