Today marks the start of World Allergy Week, a cause you can imagine is pretty close to my heart!
This year, like every year we want to get on board to help highlight just how prevalent skin allergies and reactions really are.
So, we commissioned some exclusive research and found that:
1 in every 2 British women have experienced a reaction to their beauty products, and are wasting an estimated £148 million on products they can’t use after reacting to them.
These huge figures should hopefully help sensitive skin sufferers feel a little less alone, and also encourage you to think twice before you pick up that next beauty product without reading the ingredients list first.
I dread to think how much money I wasted on unsuitable or misleading products before I started Pai!
Money aside, it’s terrible to have so many products languishing in bathroom cabinets or heading to landfill.
Seemingly reassuring terms like ‘hypoallergenic’ and ‘dermatologically tested’ on product packaging don’t help, as in reality they mean very little.
‘Hypoallergenic’ simply means it’s ‘less likely to cause a reaction than other harsh irritants’, while ‘dermatologically tested’ just means that a dermatologist carried out ‘tolerance’ tests – not what the results of these tests were.
We know shopping for sensitive skin can be a real nightmare, so we’ll give you a whole 90 days to really get to know your new Pai products. And if things don’t work out, just let us know and we’ll either help you find a better match or give you a full refund.
